EDUCATOR WELLNESS SUPPORT SERVICES
At the center and heart of our school systems are teachers and staff who give their all to their students every day. With our current “student first” education system that aims to prioritize the diverse needs and care of our youth, it is often the educators who feel the weight and demand of putting others before themselves. Burnout in education continues to be a growing issue as many practitioners are straying away from this field at alarming and unprecedented rates. Traditionally, teachers are asked to “self-care” in isolation, leaving them feeling like supporting their own needs is just “another thing” on their plate.
At CLS, we believe that educator wellness is a vital and critical component for successful student outcomes. Research suggests that when teachers feel more positive associated emotions towards their profession, students mirror these same emotions in their learning experiences. We prioritize and integrate wellness through a systems lens to disrupt the isolation and increase community and collective wellbeing and resilience. Our approach leverages adults' strengths, developing coping skills and capacities to mitigate burnout and compassion fatigue.
