HIRING PROCESS
At Collaborative Learning Solutions (CLS), we are committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce. We value diversity knowing that it fosters innovation, enhances problem-solving, and creates a more inclusive environment where all employees feel valued and respected.
Our hiring process is structured to minimize biases and promote fairness at every stage. Here are some key elements:

Blind Recruitment: We anonymize applications by removing identifiable information such as names, genders, and ages. This helps ensure that candidates are evaluated based on their skills and experiences alone.

Structured Interviews: We use a standardized set of questions for all candidates, which helps to reduce the influence of unconscious bias.

Diverse Hiring Panels: Our interview panels are composed of individuals from diverse backgrounds and departments. This diversity helps to balance out individual biases and provides a more holistic evaluation of each candidate.

Bias Training: All staff involved in the hiring process undergo regular training on recognizing and mitigating biases. This training includes practical strategies for maintaining objectivity and fairness.

Inclusive Job Descriptions: We carefully craft our job descriptions to use inclusive language and avoid terms that might discourage any certain group from applying.
By implementing these strategies, we aim to create a hiring process that is not only more equitable but also more effective in identifying the best candidates for our organization.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU?
Applicants can expect to be treated fairly and without biases throughout the hiring process. More specifically, the process is divided into four distinct steps:

Resume review: The hiring team reviews the candidates' resumes “blindly.” This means that one of our staff members redacts all identifiable information (name, dates, photos, etc.) from resumes before submitting them to the hiring team.

First Interview: The first-round interview is also conducted “blindly.” Each selected applicant is emailed a series of questions to be answered electronically within 90 minutes. One of our staff members gathers the answers and submits them to the hiring team for review. At this stage, the hiring team still doesn’t know any personal information regarding the applicants (gender, race, age, etc.).

Second Interview: The hiring team now has access to the selected applicants' original resumes. The second-round interviews are conducted in person or via video conferencing.

Third Interview (optional): Sometimes, a third-round interview is needed to make a decision. The third-round interview, if any, is conducted in person or via video conferencing.
