How to Make a "S.M.A.R.T." Goal

We hope that the SEL lessons are helpful to you and your students.

Elementary Lesson

Instructions:

1. Watch this video.

2. Create a “goal list” for the year of 2021 that includes 2 “BIG” goals you would like to achieve this year.

3. Have an adult help you identify and write down the four steps you will need to take to reach both of your goals!

4. Put your goal list up somewhere you can see it every day.

Secondary Lesson

Instructions:

1. Watch the video.

2. Think about a goal you’ve set in the past that you didn’t reach and why? Which component of S.M.A.R.T. goal setting did you miss? 

3. Create a “goal list” for the year of 2021 that includes 2 “BIG” goals you would like to achieve this year.

4. Type your goal out in S.M.A.R.T. format and share them with one person you trust.

5. Place it somewhere you will be able to see it every day!
