Growth and Resilience for Students

Updated: Jul 1

“Enthusiasm is common. Endurance is rare.”- Angela Duckworth

We’ve heard so much about resilience recently, but what is it and why do we need it? Let’s take a look at what resilience looks like and how it benefits us!

Secondary Lesson

“Supporting Resilience.”

We hope that this lesson is helpful to you and your students. This lesson is intended for secondary school students only.

Instructions: Take a look at this short film and complete the following activities/questions.

  1. Find a friend you trust and talk with them about a time when you were struggling and someone came to help you.

  2. How did the “people” in the video help to tear down the student's resilience?

  3. Can you relate to any of these stories in any way? If so, write a short paragraph about how and share it with a trusted adult.

  4. Write down two things that inspired you, identify why, and put it up somewhere you can see it every day!
