Jon Eyler, Ed.D.

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Jon Eyler is a nationally recognized consultant and speaker on topics of educational psychology and equity. He works with executive leadership to implement cohesive systems of support and lead adaptive change around perception and mindset. Dr. Eyler has worked in public education as a teacher and administrator through various levels of the system– school site, district, and county. In addition to his work as a consultant, he has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California (USC) where he taught courses in Educational Psychology. Today, Jon serves as the CEO for CLS.

Gail Angus, Ed.D.

Executive Director

Dr. Gail Angus has more than 20 years of experience in public education as a teacher and administrator. She has been instrumental in leading large-scale system implementations involving a multi-tiered system of supports. Dr. Angus is one of the primary designers of the Education Monitoring Team (EMT) model, a framework for addressing Tier 2 and 3 needs of students. Currently, Dr. Angus is the Executive Director for CLS.

Steve Hermes

Steve Hermes brings over 30 years of accounting expertise and financial wisdom to CLS. He was a founding shareholder of Nation, Smith, Hermes, and Diamond, the largest locally-owned public accounting firm in San Diego before its merger with CBIZ/Mayer Hoffman McCann. After 28 years with NSHD leading its Audit and Attest services he began a new endeavor in helping to establish Mission Edge, a non-profit organization providing financial and operational solutions to other non-profits in Southern California. Currently, Steve serves on the boards of Mission Edge, the San Diego Public Library
Foundation, and Sustainable Surplus Exchange.

Kenny McCarthy is the Director of Programs for CLS. He provides consultation services for various Tier III programs throughout California, delivering individual coaching and professional learning targeted for classroom staff. He has previously served as a special education teacher using a cognitive-based program model.

As a former “Teacher of the Year” and “Principal of the Year,” Joelle Hood brings over 20 years of experience, energy, and passion to helping all educators thrive. She provides leadership coaching and professional learning to agencies across the nation, specializing in SEL, School Climate, Mindfulness, and Social Emotional Wellness/Resiliency for Educators.

Trained as a school psychologist, Christine Fonseca is an award-winning author, national speaker, and senior consultant with Collaborative Learning Solutions. She brings over 20 years of experience working with educators, parents, and students. Her articles have been featured on Johnson&Johnson, and Justine Magazine. Critically acclaimed titles include Emotional Intensity in Gifted Students, Raising the Shy Child and Letting Go: A Girl's Guide to Breaking Free of Stress and Anxiety.

Micki Singer, J.D.

Micki Singer has over 25 years of experience as a trial lawyer, teacher leader, and program director. She specializes in MTSS implementation and is the creator of the Student Justice Center, an innovative peer-operated intervention system aimed at promoting equity through the use of restorative justice in the discipline process. Currently, Micki works as a senior consultant with CLS, providing consultation, professional learning, and coaching to education agencies.

Mary Beth Kropp, Ed.D.

Mary Beth Kropp has more than 30 years of experience in education as a teacher and site administrator. She currently works as a Senior Consultant with CLS, providing consultative and coaching services to educational agencies. Mary Beth holds an MA in Educational Leadership and is a doctoral student in Organizational Change and Leadership at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles.

Brooke Warren

Brooke Warren brings more than 25 years of experience in education in mental health and administration. She has served as a school psychologist, school counselor and Special Education Program Specialist. Additionally, Brooke was instrumental in the development of district-level programs to support students with autism and students with significant mental health needs. Brooke currently brings her solution-focused mindset and strong advocacy skills to her work as a senior consultant.

Dr. Debbie Sacks is a senior consultant with CLS. An educator for over 35 years, she has a passion for improving the lives of at-risk youth by providing professional learning experiences for adults and resources and strategies for students. Dr. Sacks has developed SEL on-line courses for student interventions and trains in Restorative Practices, Mindfulness, SEL, and PBIS.

Lisa Kalldin

Lisa Kalldin joined Collaborative Learning Solutions in 2017 as a lead teacher in the Collaborative Learning Program (CLP) a cognitive-based program for students with significant social, emotional and behavioral needs. She brings over ten years experience as a special education teacher, specializing in working with students with learning and emotional-behavioral challenges. Her true passion is mentoring students through positive relationships, high expectations, and a relentless spirit.
