The primary purpose of the Accountability and Resiliency Center is to provide a restorative, supportive, skill-building intervention that helps students take accountability, repair relationships, strengthen social, emotional, and academic skills and re-enter the school community successfully.
Key objectives include:
Reducing Exclusionary Discipline: By serving as a Tier 1 and Tier 2 intervention, the ARC helps districts significantly decrease suspension and expulsion rates.
Maximizing Instructional Time: Unlike off-campus consequences, the ARC ensures students "lose less instructional time" by keeping them on-site with a structured plan to return to class.
Fostering Accountability: The center moves beyond "punishment" by guiding students through a restorative dialogue where they acknowledge the impact of their actions and take active steps to repair harm.
Building Student Resilience: Through trauma-informed practices and skill-building modules, the ARC equips students with the emotional tools needed to navigate future conflicts successfully.
