Daily SEL Lesson – Self-Awareness Through Mindfulness 4/24

Welcome to the CLS Daily SEL lesson. Each day, Monday through Friday, we will provide a new social-emotional learning lesson designed to build emotional intelligence and resilience. There will be a lesson for elementary students and a lesson for secondary students that include media (videos, audios, or text) and simple step-by-step instructions.

Weekly Focus: Self-Awareness

Elementary Lesson – 5-minute Body Scan Exercise

  • How did you feel before the exercise?
  • How did you feel after the exercise?
  • Take a moment to reflect on the body scan exercise and write 3-5 sentences about your experience.

Secondary Lesson – 5-minute Body Scan Exercise

Instructions:

  • Watch the video and notice your emotions.
  • How did it feel to do the exercise?
  • When could you use this practice?
  • Teach this exercise to someone in your family or someone you know. Describe the experience in 5-8 sentences.
